The Wilmington Fire Department held the inaugural Fire Safety Day at Wilmington's Kosciuszko Park. The family-friendly event had fire safety stations setup for fun and to teach you fire safety tips.

AIDS Delaware held their annual AIDS Walk at Brandywine Park in Wilmington. Participants walked to show support for the cause, erase the stigma of HIV/AIDS, and to help raise money for research, treatment, and other resources. Wilmington City Council Members and Council staff walked as a team for another "One Council" community event.

Celebrating 47 years of Hispanic Heritage, Culture, and community. Since 1976 the Wilmington Hispanic Parade and Street festival has served as the largest and most iconic community event in the State of Delaware that leads the official celebration and kick-off for Hispanic Heritage Month.

The Delaware Department of Labor and Third District Councilwoman Zanthia Oliver held the "Back-to-School Career Event for High School Girls" at Penn Cinema Riverfront, which centered on female empowerment. High school girls ages 14-18 learned about job opportunities, some in traditionally male-dominated fields, while enjoying a free screening of Barbie.
